Apeks Microfinance Bank is led by a Managing Director/CEO whose focus is on developing the long-term vision and executing growth strategy for our businesses, ensuring that business development unit successfully identify and exploit synergies.

The MD/CEO is responsible for top management oversight; similarly, the head of each department or unit is responsible for strategy implementation and key management and operational decisions that drive business success.

Regular meetings are always established to ensure adequate tracking and business performance in line with the approved plans and budget of the bank.


  1. Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN – Chairman

Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN is a lawyer, called to bar in 1983.  He has remained in active legal practice ever since.    Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali completed his University education from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife  (now OAU) Ile-Ife, where he bagged LL.B. (Hons) 2nd class upper in 1982, B.L. 2nd class upper and Master of Laws (LL.M) B+.

He attended Nigeria Law School with 2nd Class Upper Division.  He attained the highest professional honour at the Nigeria Bar in 1997, when he was conferred with the prestigious and honourable Senior Advocate of Nigeria SAN.  Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN is Principal and Founder of the law Firm  – Yusuf O. Ali & Co. (Ghalib Chambers).

He is a Fellow of Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCI Arb.), Fellow Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCI Arb.) Nigeria)  Member Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN), Fellow Society for Peace Studies and Practice (FCPSP).


Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN is a member of many professional bodies such as:

  • Nigeria Bar Association
  • International Bar Association
  • American Bar Association
  • Commonwealth Lawyers Association among other

Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali, SAN also served and still serving on Boards of many companies and institutions.

  • He was the Chairman, Kwara State Law Reform Committee.
  • He was also a member of the Board of Trustee of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin and many others.

He is listed in the America’s Biographical Who-is-Who as well as Who-is-Who in Nigeria.


  1. Oyebode O.A. –  Managing Director/CEO.  –  Director

A challenge – driven and highly focused professional banker, Mr. Oyebode has worked in both Commercial and Microfinance institutions for well over a decade.  He commenced his banking career with the defunct Trade Bank Plc, where he served his youth service corp. As a stepping stone from that bank, he joined Ibolo Community Bank as Head of Banking Operations between 2000 and 2001 and became the Assistant Manager between 2001 and 2003. Between 2007 and 2008, he rose to the post of Deputy Managing Director.

He left that bank and moved to Blucon Microfinance Bank in September, 2008 as the General Manager and rose to Managing Director/CEO position between March, 2010 and November, 2011.

He moved to Apeks Microfinance Bank Limited as a continuation of his sojourn to pick the task of Business Development for the purpose of income generation for the bank – the first time such a post was created in the history of the bank.  This he held successfully from October, 2011 till June, 2012 when the bank appointed him the Managing Director.

Mr. Oyebode who is a graduate of many institutions completed his National Diploma (in Banking and Finance) from Kwara State Polytechnic.  He equally completed his HND in the same polytechnic. He went for PGD (in Finance Management) in the school of post-graduate studies) University of Ado-Ekiti. He went back to obtain his MBA in the same University in May, 2006.

In March, 2008 Mr. Oyebode proceeded to the University of Calabar to cap his studies where he was awarded Master’s Degree in Finance (M.Sc. Finance).

Mr. Oyebode is a well trained banker and a strong fighter of poverty through microfinance practice.   He is a product of the renowned world-class Kenya School of Applied Microfinance.

He belongs to the following professional bodies:

  • MCIB – Microfinance Certified Institute of Bankers (CBN/CIBN Approved) and
  • Member, Nigeria Institute of Management


  1. Dr. Babatunde Oluwole Adeyemi – Director

Dr. Babatunde O. Adeyemi is a medical doctor who holds the Bachelor’s degree in surgery (MBBS) from the College of Medicine, University of Ilorin in 2003.

He also holds Certificate in Data Processing and Management Information System, University of Ilorin in 2007.

Dr. Babatunde has a wide exposure in medical practice. After his NYSC service year in 2005 in Kogi State, he worked briefly in Kaiama General Hospital from where he proceeded to join the University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital in 2007 as a medical doctor.  He has remained with the University up till now.

In his desire to widen his horizon, Dr. Babatunde has developed himself both within and outside his chosen profession.  He has attended various courses and workshops few of which are:

  • National Post-graduate Medical College of Nigeria, Department of Community Medicine, 2009.
  • Kwara Insurance Evaluation Survey, 2009
  • West African College of Physicians, Department of Community Medicine, 2008.
  • National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS): Concept and Operational Modalities, 2006.
  • Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV (PMTCI)
  • Dr. Babatunde belongs to the following professional bodies:
  • Associate Fellow, National Postgraduate Medical College and West African College of Physicians
  • NMA – Nigeria Medical Association.


  1. Abdulrasaq Ahmed  –    Director

Mr. Abdulrasaq Ahmed was born in Kaduna on 27th March, 1964.  He attended L.E.A. ABS I Primary School between 1970 and 1976 and later to Government College, Kaduna and came our with GCE O’Level examination result.

He proceeded to the University of Lagos for PGD programme and completed it between 1989 and 1990.  He then went further to complete his education at the University of Maiduguri between 1981 and 1986 where he was honoured with B.Sc. degree.

Mr. Abdulrasaq began his working life as Assistant Lecturer between 1967 and 1990 with Ramat Polytechnic in Borno State.  He proceeded to the National Population Commission in Lagos and worked as a Senior Programmer/Analyst.

Endowed with banking profession, he gained appointment with the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation, Abuja between 1992 and 2004 i.e. twelve years as Manager.

He attended various courses which groomed him more to banking environment to face the ever changing world. They include:

  1. Kamar I. Dairo –    Director

Born on 1st January, 1957 at Gbongan in Osun State, Alhaji Kamar I. Dairo began his educational journey at A.U.D. Primary School between 1964 and 1970 and later to Gbongan/Ode-Omu Anglican Grammar School, Gbongan between 1971 and 1975 where he completed his secondary school education.

He went further to study Agric economics at the University of Ibadan between 1976 and 1981 and also 1982 and 1983.  He proceeded to the same University to read deeply and was honoured with Master’s of Science (M.Sc. degree in Agric Economics.  Between 1992 and 1997, Alhaji Karmar went further to bag the Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife.

Alhaji Karmar began his working life as a class teacher at Isabatudeen Girl’s Grammar School, Bashorun, in Ibadan between November 1982 and January, 1986.  Also at St. Andrew’s College of Education, Oyo, Alh. Karmar taught briefly as Lecturer II between January1986 and August 1987 before joining the banking profession in 1987 with Afribank Plc between 1987 and 1988.

From Afribank Plc, he moved to Trans International Bank Plc to take up the post of Senior Assistant Manager, Osogbo Branch between February 1992 and October, 1995. A thorough and hardworking banker; Alh. Karmar rose through a number of posts to become the Assistant General Manager in Trans International Bank Plc between August, 2004 and January, 2006.

He later moved to Spring Bank Plc as the Group Executive (Remedial Assets Management II). He held this post between February, 2006 and September, 2008 as Assistant General Manager cadre.  He later became the Area Manager (Network Executive, Osogbo between February, 2008 and June 2009 before disengaging voluntarily to face his Poultry Farming and Consultancy services.

Today, Alh. Karmar is a full fledged Farmer and an employer of labour.


  1. Usman Abdullateef –    Director

Prof. Usman Abdullateef was born on 17th October, 1957.  He completed his Secondary education in Offa Grammar School, Offa between 1973 and 1978 and came out with WASC certificate; and later GCE Advance Level from the University of Cambridge, UK.  He also proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 1981 and 1984 to bag the first degree certificate in Economics.

Between 1987 and 1991, he studied Economics in the University of Ilorin and was awarded M.Sc. degree in Economics.  He went further for the Ph.D. degree in Economics at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria between 2001 and 2005.

Prof. Usman Abdullateef wrote a number of Publications, Journals and Technical papers all on diverse area of knowledge/field.  In the University Community, Prof. Usman Abdullateef has headed a good number of Faculties, e.g. as Faculty Representative, Member Senate Estimate Committee, Research Team Leader, Member Representing Student Congregation on Student Welfare Board, Member Editorial Board, Treasurer, University of Ilorin Muslim Community, Faculty Representative, Faculty of Law, Member, Departmental Board of Examiners,  Marketing Manager, Journal of Business and Social Sciences, Member Faculty Committee on Allocation of Space on Mini Campus among many others.

Also outside the University Community, he has served as Secretary, LG Caretaker Committee of the defunct National Republican Convention between November, 1992 and April1993, Treasurer, Islamic Welfare Foundation Kwara State Branch between 1992 and 1997 among many others. He was also the Returning Officer in the 2003 General Election in Oyun LGA Federal Constituency,

He has a very long list of Commissioned Studies on varied topics of interest.  Prof. Usman Abdullateef is richly endowed with knowledge and experience.  He has served as:

  • Fellow, Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) 2012 – 2013
  • Research Fellow, National Centre for Hydropower Research and Dev, Unilorin between 2010 and 2012.
  • Visiting Senior Lecturer, ABU Zaria between 2010 and 2011
  • Visiting Lecturer, Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin – 2006 to 2011 and many others.
  • Visiting Senior Lecturer, Fountain University, Osogbo till date.

Prof. Usman Abdullateef is presently the Senior Lecturer of the department of Economics, University of Ilorin.


  1. Abdulkareem Oladimeji Amusat –    Director

Mr. Abdulkareem O. Amusat was born on 2nd February, 1964.  He began his elementary education in 1978 with certificate of primary education and senior school certificate in 1983.

He proceeded to the Usman Danfodio University to read Economics and was awarded the B.Sc. degree in 1991.  He also proceeded to Bayero University, Kano to obtain MBA degree.

Mr. Abdulkareem O. Amusat’s working life began from 1993 with the Federal Inland Revenue Service FIRS where he works and rose through the rank to become a Manager, the post he is currently holding.
